St Laurence’s Op Shop, Gibson St, Aramoho

We are open every Friday during term time from 9am to 12.30pm
Donations of goods is always appreciated (No large furniture please)
Proceeds go back into Church funds.

St Luke’s Locker:

Luke’s Locker is a popular Op Shop with a good range of clothing and nic-nacs. Specialty is hand-knitted baby garments.
The shop is open Tuesdays to Fridays, 10 am to 3pm @ 34 Manuka Street.
Reopening February 2019.

City Mission Whanganui:

City Mission Whanganui was established in 1991 and is a joint venture between Anglican, Catholic, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches. The Board of Trustees is predominantly made up of representatives of these four denominations. City Mission Whanganui is the trading name of Christian Social Services Whanganui and is registered as a charitable trust: CC29716.
Objectives include: “To meet the basic needs of warmth, food, friendship and hope for all people, and to help them find their place in our community”. Check the City Mission  website for full details.

Village Centre, All Saints, 70 Moana Street, Whanganui East:

Community Pantry at All Saints hall
The Church has initiated a Community Pantry at the All Saints’ Hall entry. Wewelcome anyone who would like to dropin food or produce.
The sign says: “Take what you need, and leave what you can”.

 

Coffee and Stories Club:

Our Coffee and Stories Club is a new venture, seeking to offer a welcoming space for those 70+. This will be a fortnightly afternoon tea for people to share stories including their own.

Meeting in the Market Place

(Cafe-Social/ Outreach):
Weekly meeting at Mitre 10 Columbus Cafe for fellowship, and to be a Christian presence in the community.  We read the “Word for Today” and have a time of prayer.

Friendship Lunches:

Friendship Meals are a cooked midday meal provided 5 days a week, each day at a different venue. Various churches in Whanganui host this ministry. A $3 donation/ koha helps toward the cost of the meal.
